ALBERTSONS
Wilsonville, Oregon
LCA has a long-standing relationship with Albertsons, and helped the chain get an anchor grocery in this Wilsonville development built by Killian Pacific. LCA worked within the City of Wilsonville's community design directives to build a striking brick facade with an open colonnade where customers can browse in a seasonal, open-air market. The master plan also included a full Starbucks retail store, which opens directly into the Albertsons but also features a seating plaza for the community.
ALBERTSONS
Lake Grove, Oregon
Albertsons engaged LCA to lead the design and construction of a remodel and 8,000 SF Addition of their grocery store. The client was eager to address customer concerns regarding parking circulation, screened loading facilities, and a larger store size. LCA coordinated intensive negotiations with four neighborhood groups and the local jurisdiction to secure development rights for the project. Long facades were modified with Craftsman-style wood columned canopies, highlighting the entries. This was the third major renovation for the 1965 store, so it was critical to support the existing Albertsons while creating a new face in the Lake Grove Neighborhood.
OIL CAN HENRY'S
Portland, Oregon
This well-known chain engaged LCA to create a new service center design that broke away from the "salt box" mentality to better complement the community and fulfill design requirements. LCA's solution was to use Craftsman details to communicate the brand's quality and be more inviting to customers. Period details such as carriage house doors, rafter tails, and local stone trim evoke the nostaglia around Oil Can Henry's old-fashioned service.
